Editor's note: These minutes have not been edited. Mike O'Dell, Acting Chair (OPs CoAD) The purpose of the BOF was to discern the interest in pursuing a new, clean-sheet Requirements Definition study for the architecture of collector networks and their attendant access devices. O'Dell briefly recited the history of the RADIUS effort, its signficant successes, and why it appeared that a fresh analysis of the problem area was required to make significant new progress on the problems of large collector networks. Glen Zorn (Microsoft) discussed a draft document probably best described as "the charges and specifications against the Incumbent" (Radius). O'Dell (UUNET) then gave an overview of a set of a strawman set of architectural issues which were to get people thinking "large enough." The response was quite enthusiastic and a chair volunteered: Alex Latzko (Rutgers University). A mailing list has been created at nasreq@ns2.rutgers.edu (requests to nasreq-request@ns2.rutgers.edu) and all signers of The Blue Sheet have been added. Latzko also served as scribe and his more detailed notes have been posted to the list. Latzko has launched a Charter-writing effort and that should be going forward for AD and IESG consideration in the reasonably near future. Submitted Mike O'Dell, BOF Chair
