IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

You will find some impossible, mysterious things in this picture:
- two suns
- two worlds
- in the 'upper world' snow is falling, but the tree has still leaves
- in the 'lower world' the snow is not falling, although the two worlds are
above each other
- in the 'lower world' it's hot and tropical, in the 'upper world' cold and
misty
- in the 'upper world' a sign points to Atlantis

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

WORLDS: These worlds are height_fields with use of targa files, created with
PhotoShop. The texture of the upper world is a lightly edited stone texture
from stones.inc, the lower world's texture is a bozo color-map of different
colors green and brown, combined with an image_map.

WATER: These are simple planes with a water texture and photon mapping. I scaled
the texture on the lower water smaller, to strengthen the feeling of the worlds
having different dimensions. The little ship does also strengthen this
feeling.

TREES: For the trees I used Andrew Clinton's SplineTree
macro(http://povplace.addr.com/files/). I wrote a macro that places trees upon
the lower world heightfield, with the trace-function. The trees are randomly
scaled and rotated.

SNOW: I used Gilles Tran's snow macro for the snow lying on the upper
height_field. The snow falling down is done with a simple macro I wrote,
randomly placing white spheres in the air. Again, they are randomly scaled.

FIRE AND SMOKE: The fire and smoke are spheres with media interior.

At last, the scene uses radiosity.
