IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

An ancient civilization of bird worshippers built this monument to their Gods.
Now only a ruined shell and a broken egg remain.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Two heightfields were used on for the main landscape and one for the path.
Leveller was used to create them because of it's point export facillity. These
data points were used to place grass patches, rocks and flowers in the
landscape. The building was created of individual stones modelled in Amorphium
and put together with simple CSG. The stones once had faces but they
dissapeared somewhat in the scaling process. Before I started remodelling them
I thought I would translate the texture to see if it would allow the modelling
to show. to my amusement the face was modelled by the moss( reminded me of one
of the blue meanies in the Beatles Yellow Submarine!) so I left it as is. The
snapdragons were created in Plant Studio, the grass is my own grass patch and
the rocks on the path created in Amorphium. The birds were modelled in
Organica, exported as obj files and converted to Pov meshes. The eggs are
simple scale spheres differenced with heightfields. The displacement patch was
used to give them interest and the inside and outside textures are also
different. The mist is created from boxes filled with a planar pattern
scattering media. Method three was used for speed and smoothness.
Not all files are included in the zip. There were 46mb of files to zip! which
gave a 4mb zip file. So the other files are available - just ask.

Mick
