IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

About ten thousand light-years away, there's a little planet called 'The
Imaginary Number
World'. Only four people live on this planet: Mr and Mrs Complex and their two
sons. Every
day Mr Complex goes to work with his shiny sport car. He starts his car, drives
it around
the corner and takes a wormhole at the first opportunity. The sons will leave
slightly
later after the schoolbus appears at the wormhole. Mrs Complex will take care of
the house
and the garden, meanwhile enjoying the beautifull view of the vulcano 'Mathes'.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

When I started working on this image, I took an cylinder and a sphere, for the
'planet'.
But I soon found the round shape of the planet very annoying. Therefor I used a
flat planet.
I took a true type font with an 'i' that looked like the imaginary number 'i':
'SchneidlerAmaTBla
italic' and sticked an image map on it.
Next, i put some objects on the planet: a nice house, a 'shiny red sport car', a
vulcano,
some road, a bridge and a wormhole.
For the house I used an photo as example. It has some imagemaps taken from the
photo on it,
because I didn't have time enough to render the doors and windows. I also used
an imagemap
for the car. The car is a based on a spline and is modeled with Moray.
The wormhole is a sphere with an spherical mapped media in it.
When everything was put onto the world, I finish the image by putting some
height fields onto
the planet: for some hills, a walk in the garden and another one for a pond.

NOTES:

- I apologize for all the grammatically incorrect sentences.
- This is my first entry.
- I started too late (because I didn't know there was en IRTC before)(15
February),
so it isn't really finished. Some things that should be better: the
vulcano (it does not
match verry well with the grass and it's ugly), the pond (some reed and
water instead
of solid a blue slice). Also the background is very black. It could use
some
        stars/moons/suns.
- I only used tga files for the image maps and height fields. I converted
most of them
to jpg files to make the inumber.zip file a bit smaller.
