IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

The contest subject was Imaginery Worlds. That gives you quite a lot of freedom;

I thought of a world with flowing organic forms cast in hard steel/chrome
playing on
an alien landscape. I just varied several tube and helical freeform objects

until I got the overall look I wanted. Lighten conditions were the result of

experiments done in Bryce and recreating it in Real3D. The hard shadows

are done on purpose with pointlights to get a contrast with the soft feel of

the picture. The overall impression I wanted to make with this picture is

that of contrast: steel, organic, light, shadow, soft, sharp. The title was

picked up from a poem I liked.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

All textures are procedural. GlobalFog was used and at supersampling 3x3,
lightsamples at 1.
All the objects are made from meshes. Lighting of the picture was tested in
Bryce3d
and recreated in Real3d as best I could.
