IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

As you explore the rain forests in South America, you suddenly come face to face
with a statue, of a kind previously unknown.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The statue is based on some images of Aztec and Maya statues, but is neither.

The statue is mainly made up of superellipsoids to give it the weathered look.
The texture of the stone is a marble with turbulence of 1, a large scale
granite as the normal, and a bit of crand thrown in. The lichen is a second
layer on the texture, bozo based, mainly clear, with a small scale granite as
the normal. This gives it the patchy, rough appearance.

The trees are just cylinders randomly placed, with one of 3 textures applied at
random.

The fern leaves are scaled spheres. The whole fern leaf was randomly placed
across the back, and also with a different colouring across the floor.

Focal blur was used on the camera, and a light fog in the background to give the
sense of depth.
