IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

For aeons, humans have looked to the sky,
to a silvery disc that held so much mystery.
They have watched birds in flight,
and dreamed of one day soaring with them.
Leonardo DaVinci was one such dreamer,
sketching and creating flying machines,
attempting to break the bonds that held man to Earth.

This image is of DaVinci's studio, with one of his
creations, a "helicopter", sitting on a table.
In the background, a modern-day space shuttle launches,
realizing the ancient human desire to touch the moon.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Moon - Flattened aluminum sphere with brilliance turned
up all the way. 2 lights are directly in front of it.

Shuttle - Imagemap of shuttle launch on a plane, directly behind moon.

Helicopter - Cloth created in SPatch, added wood elements in POVSB.

Mona Lisa - Painting edited in Photoshop, then pasted onto a box. Easel
        added in POVSB.

Table - Legs done in SPatch, rectangle for tabletop, and Cherry wood.

Balcony - Legs same as table, but wider.

Wine Bottle - Created in SPatch, used "wine bottle" texture.

Candle - Lathed in POVSB.

Floor - Checkered rectangle.

Lights - 2 candles with a yellowish light and fade at 5, one behind
the camera, and one in the table. A spotlight and a point light
are in front of the moon, and another light (from another room)
is off to the right of the balcony.
