IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

I was headed along the "school of thought" interpretation of this theme,
when I collided with the "Artistic School" concept. I did quick attempts
at the Impressionist School, the Surrealist School, and the Minimalist
School (a single cube representing each entity) before settling on Cubism.

So it's a life-drawing lesson in the Cubist School. The wall is adorned
with photographs of noted Cubist Scenery, the lovely model poses before the
students, and they attempt to render her likeness in creative artistic
interpretations.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Everything's made using relatively straight-forward techniques.

The only difficult thing was the sky; a collection of tetrahedrons arranged
into a gentle curving surface, with the cloud image mapped across them
as a group.

There are a number of image maps that are not original in this picture:

The "photographs" are scans of "Rush Hour, New York" by Max Weber, 1915, on
the left, and "Guitar, Glasses, and Bottle" by Juan Gris, 1914, on the
right. The cloudy sky is a modification of the cloud map distributed with
Studio Pro. The wood panelling on the desks is not original, but I don't
remember where it's from.

The student faces are based (very loosely) on sculptural faces by
Jaques Lipchitz.

The student sketches, however, are original.

I'd be happy to send the model file to anyone who requests it. (I won't
have access to my email during the month of May, but by June I will).
