Type:         util/cli
Version:      1.11
Replaces:     util/cli/APT-WBOpen11.lha
Requires:     OS 3.5 (workbench.library v44+)
Architecture: m68k-amigaos

= What's new ================================================================

Oops! The namehandling when passing <name> from CLI actually didn't work in
the previous release.. (WO would return "object not found".) Guess I forgot
to test this in the final version.. (shit happens!)

= About WBOpen ==============================================================

WBOpen allows you to open files or drawers from Shell in the same way as if
you doubleclicked their icons from WB. If you don't supply a name, an ASL
requester will pop up.

WBOpen requires OS3.5. It will not work unless Workbench is loaded.

= Why? ======================================================================

The main reason why I wrote WO was that I got tired of clicking my through
the entire directory tree just to open ONE drawer. Usually this "one drawer"
would be currentdir in CLI or the source directory in DOpus or Filemaster,
which of course makes the situation seem even more wasted.. =]

Then there's those programs that store their prefs as icon tooltypes, and
expect you to type the arguments manually when started from Shell..

= Usage =====================================================================

WBOpen currently only takes one argument, which is the name of the file or
drawer that you want to open. The entire commandline is taken as argument,
so you don't have to worry about quotation marks if the name contains spaces,
he he..

Here's a few examples to demonstrate how it works:

> wo sys:prefs ;this brings up the prefs drawer on the wb screen
> wo ""                 ;opens currentdir
> wo file with ttypes ;launches "file with ttypes" from WB
> wo ;let you choose file/dir using a requester

= History ====================================================================

(1.11) Fixed a (rather serious) bug in the previous version: when supplying
a name in the argument, WO would returned "object not found", which means the
only way to access a file/drawer in v1.10 was through ASL. Oops..

(1.10) First public release. Rewrote most of the source because the latest
version somehow disappeared from my HD. Also added support for ASL requester
if argument missing.

(1.00) First version
