CHANGES:

  · PowerPC plugin to speed up search. (68k routines still work, of course!)

  · Catalog manager to reorganize the catalog contents. Devices can
    be removed from catalogs, copied into other catalogs etc.

  · CDCat is now able to find directories by their names, too.

  · Find results window now uses NList class (by Gilles Masson) to
    provide horizontal scroller

  · New filter function for the find results list

  · Progress window for the find results window

  · Added possibility to start programs in asynchronous mode. So you
    don't have to use "run" anymore which caused problems with the output CON:

    · Auto wildcard funtion now works with direct search, too

    · Search string for text search in the find results window was not

CDCat ist DAS revolutionäre Katalogisierungs-System für den Amiga, mit ihm
können sämtliche Arten von CDROMs (und ganz speziell Aminet-CDs), aber auch
PD-Disketten und Festplatten bzw. Verzeichnisse (z.B. mit vielen Grafiken
oder Musikmodulen) katalogisiert werden. (Test siehe APlus 12/97)

CDCat "merkt" sich den Inhalt der Datenträger, indem er die Dateinamen mit der
Verzeichnisstruktur und bei Aminet-CDs zusätzlich Größe, Alter und Beschreibung
in einem "Scankatalog" auf der Festplatte ablegt, wobei in einem dieser
Kataloge beliebig viele Datenträger enthalten sein dürfen.

Nun ist CDCat in der Release 3 da, mit vielen neuen Features.

  · Katalog-Manager, um die Kataloge umzuorganisieren. Sie können die Disks
    umsortieren, in andere Kataloge kopieren, löschen, etc...

  · 15 frei konfigurierbare User-Knöpfe, über die direkt aus CDCat heraus
    Archive entpackt, Bilder angezeigt, Musikmodule abgespielt etc. werden
    können.

  · Aminet-Beschreibungen können auf Wunsch mitdurchsucht werden

  · Scankataloge können automatisch XPK-gepackt werden

  · Merkbrett: Hier können Sie beliebig viele Dateinamen (auch dauerhaft)
    zwischenspeichern, wenn Sie die Datei nicht gleich bearbeiten möchten.

  · Angabe der Verzeichnisse möglich, in denen gesucht werden soll.

  · Allen Datenträgern können "DiskIDs" (Erkennungsnummern) zugeordnet werden.

CDCat (MUI) is a revolutionary cataloging system which allows
catalogisation of all kind of CDRoms (especially Aminet-CDs),
other device or directories (e.g with a lot of pictures etc).

It scans the contents of the device and saves it into a scancatalog
on your hard disk. There is also a special Aminet mode that converts
the INDEX files included on the Aminet-CDs into a special catalog
format which also includes information about size, age and description.

  · catalogs CDROMs, harddisks, PD disks etc.

  · light speed Aminet mode which scans Aminet CDs in 3-5 sec and catalogs
    archive size, age and descreption, too.

  · fast and flexible search routines (85% inline assembler!!)

  · PowerPC search routines for users of PowerUp boards.

  · Devices or directories can be searched directly without creating a
    scancatalog

  · Manager to reorganize catalog data. You may resort devices, copy them
